MadCap Cafe - Frankston
This enterprise business focuses on supporting community and those who suffer from mental illness.  The call was put out to Facebook requesting any help possible to those willing to lend a hand.  Being a good cause we wanted to be involved, donating our time and material and expertise to achieve a good outcome.

Front Signage - Before.  Removing the old Cafe signage band, we printed a new banding to be installed across the front glazing panels.

Front Signage - The centerpiece being the large MapCap Cup, it wanted to be prominent, yet not too big that it would block the view.

Focusing in on the MadCap mantra.  Project Manager Anthony commented how important it was for customers to see this entering in the store.  The social enterprise business that supports the local community.

External signage, digitally printed and installed over the old signage board.  Print was laminated to provide longevity.  This is the feature point that will be seen as people drive past the main street.

The Dessert shop had recently had their external sign damaged after a forklift carrying large pallets was pushed into the sign.  After doing some tests, the LED strip was still in tact, rather than re-create the letter which would be a labour intensive task, we used acrifix which uses special UV light to cure.

Repaired sign - After joining the acrylic piece together, it was patched and filled and sanded back to a smooth finish.  We then sprayed the letter with black acrylic to match the existing finish as closely as possible.

With the new branding finalised, Berwick was the last clinic to be completed.  Exterior, stairwell and reception areas need to be updated.  To minimise cost, the glass splashback would remain and we would mount alucobond sheets with cut vinyl ontop,  We used construction grade double sided tape and learnt that hard way how tacky it was.  The old adage of measure twice, cut/paste once definitely rung true.  The front reception desk mounted with stand-offs would be replaced with a same style finish.

Original Stairwell.

Using alucobond as a backing sheet. We advised the client that it would be a great contrast to have them separate. It would be a slight additional cost, but would have a better individual finish.

All works kept in house to maximise quality control. Site left clean upon completion. Notified staff of impending works to minimise any disruption to staff as wall was concrete and required hammer drill to use stand-offs.

The store was looking at replacing their damaged change-room signs.  Currently printed on acrylic which was stuck to a polystyrene backing, it was mounted on the wall by a railing system.  Due to the location, it has been knocked over a few times.  The store has wanted a better finish, scope requested MDF, sprayed with a 2pac finish.  Design specifications were provided by the consultant Sign Manager, these details included:

            - paint type (Spies Hecker)
            - Colour and codes
            - substrate
            - sizes, thickness, diameter, including a beveled edge to minimise any sharp edges.
            - mounting specification

Photos detailed the existing schematics, and the program was to be done within a 5 working day deadline.  All works were kept in house to maximise quality control.  Our spray booth is now fully functional.   Inductions were required working on a Target site, along with Colonial First State new compliance system.
